By "real-life person", do you mean adapting an existing biography, autobiography, or true story? The first two are nearly impossible, you would bore the audience to death. You'd have to pick one interesting event in their life and build a screenplay around it, if you'd want to get anyone's attention.
True stories are difficult also, as are novels. So much that goes on in the protagonist's head is difficult if not impossible to translate on-screen. That's why you see a lot of "based on a true story" or "inspired by a true story" movies. Much of the actual movie is pure fiction. Like the biography and autobiography, the pure "true story" would put audiences to sleep, or have them heading for the door. Cheers, Scotland www.scriptrepairman.com |
