I bought it used on Amazon for about $6 delivered.
To Doc Thompson: It's all a matter of personal taste, of course, but I thought it was one of the most brilliant, sharply written, original and inventive comedy romances ever created. You have to watch it 2-3 times to fully understand it because of the uniqueness and complexity of its plotline. It's discouraging to me, as a would-be writer in the same genre, to realize that I could never hope to approach Charlie Kaufman's intelligence, originality and creativity. I refer you to "Being John Malkovich" for more of the same. They are brilliant works by any objective standard. |

Hello Harvp46 - are you really sure you want to say "discouraging ... to realize...(you) could never hope" - ? This from a writer who obviously seems instinctive, and intelligent, enough to appreciate Mr. Kaufman's work? You obviously enjoy being a discouraged man who has fully realized his eternal (you used the word "never") hopelessness. Criticism and Praise are prisons. Don't go there if you can. I don't mean to slam on you. Obviously I battle this @#%$-self talk within myself, and on a daily basis. You might want to pick up Steven Pressfield's "The War Of Art" to help you see what you are doing. It's a crime. |

Mea Coppola. I got these two titles mixed up. Indeed, the Goldsman film is tripe while the Kaufman film is brilliant. |

Just saw "Eternal Sunshine" a few days ago. Agree! What is "the single good scene" in "A Beautiful Mind" that doc refers to in his post, do you know?

they're both crap, actually. AG can't write very well, and CK writes too obscurely for the best of directors. End result: they both end up mediocre as end products. Both good, mind you. Just less than they could be. doc |
