I hope someone sees this because the last post on this board was dated a year ago. But here goes. I just got Screenwriter 6. I've been a user of this stuff since Scriptor was on 8-inch floppies, but I've never tried using it to write a novel. I notice that it has a template for novels. Has anyone used it? I'm interested in trying to figure out how to take advantage of the outlining and color coding capabilities of Screenwriter, but I'm not sure how to do that.

thanks,

Craig

You probably get asked this a lot, but here goes. I have an idea for a novel and I wouldn't mind writing one, but how do you start? Has anyone got tips on the best way to do things, do you plan it fully first or jump straight in? Should you plan all your characters and who/what they are, or should you just create them as you go along and remember what you said about them? As you can tell I'm new to this, but would like to give it a go and do it decently.
Thanks,

IxxI

First and foremost, I enjoy writing. I've written a lot of short stories and one short novel. I'm working on a novel now, my difficulty is, I unremmitingly make things too wordy, too dramatic, and I can't always see when I do this. Would anyone here like to help me? Basically, would someone offer to read what I write in little spurts, give me their ideas and keep me in check. No one more than me know how busy writers are these days, but, would someone please help me?
